One of the most adventurous motorcycle trips in India is from Srinagar to Manali via Leh Ladakh. Every year, thousands of riders from all over the world travel to these mountains to explore the Himalayas' most rugged terrain. During this 11 day motorbike trip from Srinagar to Manali, one will experience the true beauty of the Trans Himalayas Mountains ranging from 3000Mtrs to 5300Mtrs. We will begin our motorcycle trip in Srinagar and travel the Srinagar-Leh highway via Kargil, Drass, the Zoji La pass, and Sonamarg before arriving in Leh. We will cover the world's highest motorable road, the world-famous Pangong Tso Lake, the coldest desert Nubra Valley, and local sightseeing in and around Leh on our Leh Ladakh bike trip. After exploring Leh Ladakh by motorcycle, we will ride to Manali via the Manali-Leh highway and arrive in Manali via the newly built high altitude "Atal Tunnel."
We will provide you with hotel information well in advance of your arrival in Srinagar. You must travel to the hotel on your own. In the evening, you will meet with our Ride Captain or Tour Leader for a briefing, introduction to your motorcycles, riding gear inspection, safety measures, and other important aspects of the tour, followed by dinner. You should get plenty of rest today so that you can acclimate quickly. Srinagar is located at a height of 1585 metres.
The first day of our Srinagar to Manali bike trip will begin with a ride towards Kargil via the Zoji La Pass, which is located at a height of 3528 metres above sea level. En route, we will also visit the Kargil War Memorial before arriving in Kargil in the evening.
We will begin our journey on the Leh Ladakh Bike trip towards Leh shortly after breakfast. Today we will ride from Kargil to Leh, and you will be surprised to ride on this road because 90% of the journey is tarmac, so be prepared to cruise on control. We will cross Fotu La before reaching Leh, which is the highest point on the Srinagar-Leh Highway at 4100 metres above sea level. We'll arrive in Leh in the evening and rest for the day.
We arrived in Leh after two days of arduous riding on the Srinagar to Manali Bike Trip. Because Leh is located at 3500 metres above sea level, it is critical that each of you get enough rest to acclimate for the next few days. We will not provide motorcycles today because we will need time to maintain the bikes for the next few days of adventure travel.
Soon after breakfast, we will begin our ride towards Pangong Tso Lake, passing through multiple checkpoints where we must submit our restricted area permits and inner line permits. Before reaching Pangong Tso, we must cross Changla Pass, the world's third highest motorable road at 5360 metres above sea level. We will arrive in Spangmik village, which is located on the banks of Pangong Tso Lake, in the early evening. Today we will be staying in tented accommodation. Pangong Lake is 4225 metres above sea level.
After spending a night at the banks of Pangong Lake, we will start our 6th day of the Ladakh Motorbike trip towards Nubra Valley. Nubra valley is situated at the height of 3000Mtrs ASL and it’s the coldest desert in the entire Himalayas. Most of the road today will be off-road since we will be riding through Shyok Valley. We will reach Hunder by evening; if we have time during the evening we will visit Hunder Sand Dunes and spend some time over there.
We will leave Hunder after breakfast and travel to Diskit Monastery, which is the oldest monastery in Nubra Valley and also houses a statue of Maitreya Buddha. Following that, we will begin ascending towards Khardungla Top, the World's Highest Motorable Road at an elevation of 18380 feet above sea level. Because the Khardungla pass is the main attraction on our Delhi to Leh motorcycle trip, we will spend some time there before beginning our descent towards Leh. We will arrive in Leh in the early evening, and you can spend the rest of the day exploring the Leh Bazaar and purchasing souvenirs.
Today will be a leisure ride; we will begin exploring the tourist attractions in and around Leh. After breakfast, we will visit Magnetic Hill, then Likir Gompa, and finally Alchi Monastery before returning to Leh in the early evening to visit Shanti Stupa.
After exploring one of Mother Nature's most magnificent creations, we will begin our return journey on the Srinagar to Manali bike trip. We will ride towards Sarchu, passing through TanglangLa Pass, Moore Plains, Lachungla Pass, Nakeela Pass, and Gata Loops before arriving in the evening.
It will be the final ride day of our Srinagar to Manali bike trip; we will depart for Manali, passing through the Atal Tunnel and arriving in the evening. We will also cross the Baralachala la pass before that.
After breakfast, we will check you out of the hotel and take you to the bus stop for your onward journey to Delhi by Volvo bus.
NOTE: Most Volvo buses depart after 3 p.m., so if you have time after checking out of your hotel, you can spend some time exploring Manali on your own.
